Naveen Jain’s InfoSpace and Intelius

When it comes to attaining success, Naveen Jain is relentless force. Growing up in Uttar Pradesh, India, Naveen Jain is the type who puts in hours and hours of work. Only a person with the same drive for ambition as Naveen Jain can consecutively establish two companies. He is the esteemed founder of content provider InfoSpace as well as info commerce outfit Intelius.

Naveen Jain also has a wife who shares the same enthusiasm he has. Anu Jain is as sensible on the family business as Naveen. As the current Vice President of Community Relations for Intelius, she has been active in facilitating philanthropic programs.

When he was younger, Naveen Jain had managed to make ends meet through the payroll of the Burroughs Corporation in New Jersey. Years later, his ambition landed him a new job at Microsoft Corporation. Working as part of Bill Gates’ team has brought him to Washington where he has settled ever since.

After all these years, Naveen Jain has been compelled to stay in Washington because the companies he has co-founded — Intelius and InfoSpace — have their headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.

The latest of the two companies, Intelius, provides services for verifying background data about a person. Background information may come out in forms of reports about the person’s criminal history, addresses for the past 20 years, civil judgments, marriage records and a confirmation of whether the person is alive or dead. On the other hand, the previous company, InfoSpace, mainly delivers content services for several websites.

Aside from working hard as a business executive and as a father, Naveen Jain also finds time to seek for opportunities in philanthropy. In 2008, he and his wife had pushed Intelius into record contributions to a number of nonprofits such as Hopelink, Overlake Service League, United Way, Seattle Children’s Hospital, CRY India, Tree House and the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club.
